Re: Cool Models - including a Malanthrope

Looks like most of his work involves altering or "kit bashing" existing DoW models. There's a noticeable difference between those and the stuff that he's done from scratch.

Maybe we can get him to put some wings on the Warriors...

Re: Cool Models - including a Malanthrope

That looks a lot like Typhus' Trygon with some modifications. And if you look further back, you can see a Tervigon that is definitely made from Stryer's Carnifex.

While it's not exactly "original" at least it would fit in with the other models.

Re: A lot of Suggestions

Should prove useful if enemy gets near your base, that how you might as well get a bit of a warning.

That's what Toxic Miasma and the additional troop caps are for. Enemy units in your base will move slow and give you time to divert some of your extra units to defend the base.

Re: Broodlord relief

you guys shell the models?

when you unwrap the model for texturing, you make different groups of UVs for different parts of the models. These groups of UVs are commonly referred to as "shells".

Re: Broodlord relief

It looks like that corner of the UV shell for the spike was too close to another shell (possibly the tongue or something of similar color). I try to put as much space as possible between shells but this map was very tightly packed. If you've fixed it then that's fine. Let me know if it comes up agai...

Re: Needing Total Forumite Input

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with the concept. I understand that a good critic actually knows a little bit about the subject of their criticisms, and a great critic can actually make it constructive by suggesting intelligent ways it could've been done better. A critic that doesn't know what he/she is talki...

Re: Needing Total Forumite Input

your weak point is you don't listen to fan who have more experience than you That sums it all up right there. Can he be more contradictory? Fans have NO experience because they are fans, not modders. The modders that do come by tend to show nothing but respect for the accomplishments and hard work ...

Re: Needing Total Forumite Input

Yes, you are the noobs. If you were leet you would do what he asks, praising his name for sharing his recipe for succesful modding, and allowing him to spam whatever garbage he wants all over your community page. And, since we would be making the most awesomeist mod ever and would no doubt be gettin...

Re: Citadel Finecast

I've read that this resin composite does not need to be washed before painting. But they do warn that there can be air bubbles in the casting process that result in small holes in the model. They say that these can be filled with small dabs of super glue but I'm skeptical about how well this could p...
