I'd sacrifice a little of the CC aesthetic to replace the hormies with double the number of spinies. Same number of attacks, but you re-roll to hit and get more turns that you can attack in. Makes them more useful, easier to herd people with and they provide a better distraction to cover your heavies' movements. Plus they threaten more of the board - makes you less predictable. And you're not reliant on your gaunts running ahead of your Synapse.

Meanwhile you've still got all that heavy CC wandering around to scare the crap out of people.
