Very interesting. This really makes Tyranid building style a totally unique race amongst other DoW races. The influence is a great way to progress to later tiers but where will you need influence once your in T4? Ofcourse to drop and grow (build) more champers, what im asking is there a point where you will just not need influence anymore?

Another question that i have is: At what point cant you no longer drop and grow (build) chambers? Like if imperial guard loses all their Tech priests and Field command centers they can no longer create buildings, is there a similar situation for the Tyranids? What im thinking is that your hive serves as the link between your hive fleet and its the only being that can call for drops.

The intent is to make global abilities require Influence, as well as tiering and dropping in buildings do.
The limiting factor(s) for the build system will be both the Hive Spire (exactly the way you guessed) and fog of war.
As long as you can see a place and you have atleast one Hive Spire, you can drop in a building (provided you have enough Influence).

At the moment it's a real-life events slowdown. As stated previously, most of the coding is down, we're down to tweaks and fine-tuning before beta testing. The problem is we're just busy.

I know what you mean.... I had a recent RL ordeal (I still do) and I am trying to deal with it (total loss is a possibility - DAMN!).
Buy I am really trying - and DOW in general is a VERY GOOD comforting factor.... :lol:
